Gas Tax Supports York Region Transit
Government Investments Building Strong Communities

Ontario’s Gas Tax Program is getting more people out of their cars and onto public transit.

This year, York Region Transit will receive $13.9 million in Gas Tax funding to go towards public transit improvements.

The Regional Municipality of York receives approximately $14 million annually from the Provincial Gas Tax Program. All funding has been allocated to the YRT\Viva operating budget for the past several years and consistently applied to region-wide service initiatives in both conventional and rapid transit services.
